Murphy Offers Support for Bipartisan Student Veterans Mental Health Bill During Veterans’ Affairs Committee Hearing
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) offered remarks in support of his bipartisan legislation, H.R. 4233, The Student Veterans Counseling Centers Eligibility Act during a House Veterans’ Affairs Health Subcommittee hearing.
“We are all acutely aware of the difficulties veterans often have in transition back to civilian life, especially those looking to further their education” said Murphy. “This issue is especially personal in my district, which is home to over 89,000 veterans and active duty military. My bill, H.R. 4233 would make significant strides for returning veterans by provide expanded counseling and mental health support services through the Veteran Administration’s Readjustment Counseling Centers or ‘Vet Centers.’ As a member of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, I am proud to lead this effort to ensure that student veterans have the care and resources they need after their tremendous service to this nation.”
