Murphy Appointed to the Healthy Future Task Force

July 1, 2021

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) has been appointed to the Healthy Future Task Force alongside 15 other Republican members. Led by Congressmen Brett Guthrie (KY-02) and Congressman Devin Nunes (CA-22), this task force has been charged with finding conservative solutions to our healthcare.

"As the only practicing physician in Congress, I have been able to maintain the first-hand experience with how our medical system is working", said Murphy. "I feel that bringing 30 years of healthcare experience ranging from the bedside to running a surgical practice to being Chief of Staff of a Level One Trauma Center to being Senior Chair of Health Policy in the NC Legislature will be beneficial to forming policy. This experience paired with my role as Vice-Chair of the GOP Doctor's Caucus will allow me to create effective legislation that solves our current healthcare problems."

"This task force will allow Members to come together with patient-oriented solutions, rather than a government takeover of healthcare. We want to improve access and affordability in a financially viable environment. We want Americans to live longer and healthier lives and the best way to do that is by creating a quality healthcare system that promotes prevention and offers quality treatments."

Members of the Healthy Future Task Force include Rep. Tom Cole (OK-04), Rep. Larry Bucshon, M.D. (IN-08), Rep. Morgan Griffith (VA-09), Rep. Mike Kelly (PA-16), Rep. Richard Hudson (NC-08), Rep. Brad Wenstrup, D.P.M. (OH-02), Rep. Rick Allen (GA-12), Rep. Bruce Westerman (AR-04), Rep. Kevin Hern (OK-01), Rep. John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13), Rep. Beth Van Duyne (TX-24), Rep.
